Other Helpful Tips on Avoiding Yeast Infections
1. It’s suggested that you take showers instead of bathing while you're treating a yeast infection.
2. Drink cranberry juice. Unsweetened is the best. Excellent anti-oxidant properties.
3. Wear cotton underwear or panties with an absorbent cotton crotch. Better yet wear skirts with no underwear around the house – letting the area between your legs stay “aired-out”.
4. Don’t use fabric softener or “dryer sheets” on underwear. Better yet, use a cup of vinegar in the rinse cycle instead.
5. Use unscented toilet paper. The added scents can be a source of irritation.
6. Clean yourself after intercourse. Douching is NOT recommended. The easiest, safest way to clean alkaline semen out of the vagina is to use home-made vinegar swabs. Wrap a bit of toilet paper, paper towel or thin cloth around a finger. Dip it into a solution of 1 Tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to ½ cup of water. Insert and swap the area in a circular motion.
7. If you must take antibiotics, plain yogurt, kefir or similar yogurt products taken orally help replenish the good bacteria that are often destroyed by antibiotics. Plain unflavored yogurt can also help keep your vaginal tissues healthy, one half teaspoon on your fingertip placed into your vagina.
8. Avoid sugars – white sugar, brown sugar dextrose, fructose and all the “tose”s. Yeast thrives and multiplies on sugar.
9. Take Provie’s pure 100% Taheebo “Pau D’ Arco” extract on a daily basis and as an addition to your vitamin supplements
